Explore career options in the beauty industry and learn from one of Hawaii’s best, owner of Beyond the Mirror, Gizelle Ancheta.

ARTS AND CULTURE IMMERSION: JAPAN

Explore the cultural tapestry of Japan, create connections through music and art, and evalate modern environmental solutions, all with the goal of answering the fundamental question: How do we sustain healthy communities?

BIG ISLAND BACKPACKING

Discover your strengths, connect to our islands, and explore solutions to climate change while backpacking through the unforgettably rugged landscapes of the Big Island of Hawai’i.

BIODIVERSITY OF O'AHU

Explore two forest and two stream ecosystems, and one intertidal and fringing reef zone, and close out our week with a visit to the collections of the Bishop Museum.

Build, explore and adventure in a unique world created by you and your friends. What kind of adventurer will you be, what will you stand up for, and what legacy will you leave through your choices?

Embark on a hands-on journey of creativity and cultural appreciation. This course may include lei making, lauhala weaving, kapa making and more!

LANGUAGE: THE HEART OF IBERIA

Explore the ancient cultures of the Iberian Peninsula- Spain, Portugal, Andalusia, and Morocco.

This multilingual expedition will provide students with a practical and immersive learning experience by allowing them to apply the knowledge and concepts gained in class and use the language in a real-world context.

MAKANI OLU: SAILING THE ISLANDS

Join the crew of the Makani Olu, a 96-foot, 3-masted staysail schooner, on another epic inter-island sailing adventure.

PONO POPOKI: ANIMAL WELFARE

Go behind the scenes and volunteer with organizations that are on the front lines of the free-roaming animal crisis, and visit bird and cat sanctuaries on Lanaʻi. Find pono solutions to divisive issues!

RINGS AND THINGS

Become a true Lord of the Rings! Learn the basics of metalworking, soldering and smithing.

Grades 9-12.

TECHPRENEURS

Explore careers in tech, including emerging AI, and build your own business plan as a young techpreneur. Meet with professionals in hardware repair, software and app development, and system management. Build out your own vision as a techpreneur and pitch it to a committee for the chance to win $250 in seed money.

Grades 6-12.

WILD AOTEAROA

Travel to South Island of Aotearoa (New Zealand) to immerse in the unique ecological and cultural history of our Polynesian neighbor, and spend 5 days backpacking and camping on an epic overland trek.

Grades 9-12.

PADI ADVANCED OPEN WATER CERTIFICATION

The Advanced Open Water Diver course is all about advancing your skills. You'll practice navigation and buoyancy, try deep diving and make three specialty dives. This advanced diving course will gain experience with the following specialties: Deep Diver, Night Diver, Wreck Diver, Boat Diver, and Underwater Navigation.

15 and over, Basic Open Water Certification required.

MELE MURAL

Explore the art of mural making and the powerful influence art can have on a community.

Grades 6-12.

FIJI: HIGHLANDS TO REEF

Travel to the island of Viti Levu in Fiji and explore another island culture, both similar and very different from our own. Enjoy surfing, hiking, eating, dancing, and learning from Fijian communities.

JEWELRY MAKING

Learn a variety of jewelry making techniques and complete the beginning steps of creating your own handcrafted business.

LIFE UNDER WATER

Learn what it takes to work in ocean conservation and get hands on experience at working marine biology labs.

15 and older.

MARCH MADNESS: INSIDE PRO ATHLETICS

Visit top collegiate athletics programs, go behind the scenes at a professional baseball team’s spring training, and catch some live basketball on the biggest stage of all.

ROBOTICS

A week of robotics work and training for members of the Koʻolaupoko Robotics Team.

Grades 6-12. Koʻolaupoko Robotics Team Members only.

SEW FUN!

During this course, students will learn basic hand sewing skills along with learning how to use a sewing machine. These skills will be applied to making various products for both personal use and to donate to local charities.

Grades 6-8.

TRADITIONAL TOOLS AND WEAPONCRAFT

Explore the cultural history and impact of time-honored skills, and develop your focus, self-awareness and self-discipline along the way.

WINTER WONDERLAND: ALASKA

Alaska is renowned for its stunning winter beauty, with vast snow-covered mountains, frozen lakes, and picturesque landscapes as far as the eye can see. This course is designed to provide students with a comprehensive understanding of Alaska's winter climate, outdoor recreational opportunities, and the skills necessary to thrive in this cold and snowy environment.

PADI BASIC OPEN WATER CERTIFICATION

PADI® Open Water Diver is the first scuba certification level. A highly-trained PADI Instructor will teach you how to scuba dive in a relaxed, supportive learning environment. By the end of the course, you'll have the skills and knowledge to dive at home or abroad and be an ambassador for the underwater world.

Grades 6-12.

MODEL UN: VIETNAM

Prepare to be captivated by Hanoi's charm, enlightened by the Model United Nations Conference, and enchanted by the mountain's embrace. This course will explore the diverse tapestry of culture, flavors and sensory experiences that is Vietnam, and this land’s complicated and pivotal geopolitical history.

Grades 9-12.

FARM TO TABLE

Visit local farms to how to grow, harvest, and prepare your own food in Hawaii. At the end of the week, plan and cook your own farm to table meal for friends and family.

LAST FRONTIER: SCIENCE OF THE ARCTIC

Travel north to Fairbanks, Alaska to explore climate change through an indigenous lens and chase views of one of the Earth’s most incredible phenomena- the Aurora Borealis!

LIFE ON THE RANCH

Spend I-Term outside learning horsemanship at White Stallion Ranch, a working dude ranch in Arizona. In addition to learning about daily life and routines on the ranch, ride horseback through the Tucson mountains!

Explore the vast diversity of Chinese culture and language through its many regional cuisines.

ROCK AND HARD PLACE

Whether you're a beginner seeking an introduction to the world of climbing or an experienced climber looking to refine your skills, this course offers a comprehensive and immersive learning bouldering and belaying experience.

Create and print your own designs on a variety of different mediums and items, and learn how to start your own business.

WESTSIDE WANDERING

Explore the awe-inspiring landscapes and rich cultural heritage of Oahu's Westside. By the end of the course, students will have gained a deeper understanding of the natural, cultural, and historical aspects of the leeward side of our island.

Grades 6-8.

KANIKAPILA

Immerse yourself in the rich melodies, rhythms, and cultural heritage of Hawai’i through the enchanting world of Kanikapila – the art of spontaneous music-making. In this dynamic and engaging course, students in grades 6 through 12 will journey through the captivating sounds of Hawaiian music, exploring its historical roots, cultural significance, and vibrant contemporary expressions.

CAMPUS TOUR: PNW

Road trip around the beautiful Pacific Northwest, touring colleges and exploring the history and ecology of the region.

Grades 9-11. Preference to Juniors.

PROPER RIDE

Develop skateboarding skills and explore how the counter-culture movement has been community building around the world.
